Peter new user
Hello, I try to find something on forum, but nothing helps. Maybe I didn't find what I was looking for... Today I've installed Affinity V2 Universal Trial. To test it before I'll buy it. But It's not working. When I want to open new document it just shutdown/crush. It happens in all programs. I dont know, maybe my computer dosen't support this program? But I try to check it, and it's seems to be ok. I have, Razen 5 and Radeon Vega 8 Mobile, 16 GB of RAM. Direct X 12... I try to disable hardwear acceleration in the program preferences. If I can get any information about this I'll by grateful. regards
Staff NathanC Posted January 30 Staff Share Posted January 30 Welcome to the forums @Peter new user, If the app fails to create a new document/open any existing files, this can be an indication of a GPU/Driver based issue on your device which is causing Affinity to crash when rendering the canvas. I've provided some potential solutions to run through below in order: Disable Hardware Acceleration Within the apps under Edit > Preferences > Performance try disabling Hardware Acceleration (The last tickbox) and then close the interface and restart the app when prompted to and try again. Update your GPU Drivers Make sure that you have the latest available drivers installed for your GPU, i've linked the AMD driver search tool below. If possible, perform a clean installation of your drivers if given the option. https://www.amd.com/en/support Reset drivers via DDU If it still freezes/crashes, try doing a complete uninstall of your graphics card drivers using a dedicated tool for this purpose (Such as DDU linked below) and then restart and install your graphics card drivers (using the link above to search) to refresh them. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Peter new user
Thank you for answering in such short notice. Of course it was a driver issue. I found the problem and I fix it. Now all programes are working smoothly with no problems as well. Sorry for new topic, there was a lot at the forum about the drivers. But it wasn't so obvious to me that this is the issue at the first time. Regards
