Drastic Color Shift In PSD Export Preview

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm working with affinity photo 2 and I'm trying to convert rgb images to cmyk to prep some files to send to a printer. I know there's going to be some color loss because of the color profiles and I've adjusted my files to compensate for that(converted the document's ICC profile to CMYK and made the needed edits to the file). I've done this conversion on several pieces and exported to JPG  without a problem. However when I prep the same files to export PSDs there seems to be a drastic color shift in the export preview. However after I export the image it seems like the colors in the saved psd appear fine. I tested jpg and png exports as well to see if there was something wrong with my files settings but the exports for both match what I have in my canvas. The drastic color shift only appears on the previews for exporting PSDs and was wondering if this is some sort of bug? The shift is even more noticeable on my pinks.

PSD export preview, (Note after I perform the export and open the exported file, the colors appear fine so I'm not sure what I should trust given I need to send these files for someone else to print)

Hi @Skaiand Welcome to the Forums,

This is a bug with the Preview window.  CMYK documents are being previewed in RGB but only for PSD, which is why you get the colour change.  This doesn't effect the exported PSD file, its only the preview in app.

We do already have this logged with the Developers and I've left a link on that report back to this thread so you'll get a notification when it's been resolved.
