Problems starting Affinity Desiner and Affinity Photo

Recommended Posts

Hello community,

I trust you're all well. I'm currently encountering an issue with Affinity Designer 2 on my macOS system. Whenever I try to launch the application, it unexpectedly crashes, generating a report indicating a "Segmentation Fault" in thread 14, hinting at a possible problem with plugins.

Regrettably, I'm unable to access the Affinity Designer interface to disable plugins, as the application closes immediately upon launch. I've explored the plugin folders mentioned in the documentation but am uncertain which specific plugins might be causing the issue.

To provide additional context:

  • I have updated my Mac system to macOS 14.2.1 (23C71).
  • I've attempted to address the problem by reinstalling Affinity Designer 2, including trying previous versions of the program.

I've followed general troubleshooting steps, such as reinstalling the application and reviewing system logs, but the problem persists.

I would greatly appreciate any insights, guidance, or suggestions from the community on how to identify and disable problematic plugins. If anyone has encountered a similar issue and found a solution, your input would be invaluable.

Additional Information:

  • Operating System: macOS 14.2.1 (23C71)
  • Affinity Designer Version: 2.3.1

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Best regards, Michael

Are you able to provide a copy of this Crash Report here for me, so that I can investigate further?

Many thanks in advance :)
