SusB Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I can't see how to start the page 1 number on a book that has five blank pages at the beginning. -- I've tried creating a separate masters for the front matter and the rest of the book, but number 1 still starts on the first document page. In other words, where I want the first page of the story to read "1" it reads "5". -- I've tried entering "0" in the field "Start page numbering at" in the Section Manager, but it does not accept zero. --I've tried searching in the forum, but it gives me everything with the word "page" in it. The videos I've watched have only told how to change the numbering from Roman to Arabic numerals, not how to suppress them altogether. Any ideas? Quote
GarryP Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 My attached document should help. Note that the master page was only applied to the right-hand side of pages 4-5, and then the whole spreads of the subsequent pages. page-numbers-start-later.afpub Callum 1 Quote
MikeTO Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Click the Section Manager icon in the Pages panel or choose Window > Section Manager. Click the Add Section icon Change Start On Page to the number of the page on which you want to reset page numbering to 1 Select Restart Page Numbering At and set it to 1 Cheers Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.5, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
SusB Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 Perfect! Thanks! By the way, I finally figured out my baseline grid problem. I was trying to make the system do what it can't, and logically shouldn't. But I do appreciate your patience! MikeTO 1 Quote
