Application: Affinity Photo 2.3 on iPad
Version: 2.3.0.2165
OS Version: iPadOS 17.2

Unable to remove a device license from an iPad (licensed via AffinityID & Serial Number; University Site License)
When clicking Account => "This app is licensed for" => 3 dots right => "Deactivate device" => "Yes" , nothing happens.

This method worked in a previous version and removed the license on the iPad.

I expected that the license would be removed from the device so that I can use another license to activate it again.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Affinity Photo 2 didn't resolve it.

Welcome to the forums @Koerpersanka,

I've just tested this on 2.3 Photo and it's allowed me to proceed with the de-activation without any issue, after performing the same steps and then swiped to close and re-open the app to restart it I was greeted with the activation screen.

Could you try de-activating the app via the 'Clear user data' menu to see if it then works? Instructions below:

  1. Reboot your iPad
  2. Open Photo 2 and quickly double tap on the loading/start screen
  3. A 'Clear user data' menu will appear, tick 'De-activate Affinity 2 apps' and 'Reset Account Data'
  4. Press 'Reset' and the app will now launch

Hopefully this should then return you to the activation page.

Hi @Koerpersanka,

Thanks for following up, quite the strange one. Could you confirm if your app is licensed as a part of a multi-user/business license or have you purchased the app as an individual user?

If you're a Multi-license user when you went to re-install the app did you just install it again via the iOS app store, or via a separate download link?

Hi NathanC,

the license is a valid license through an educational campus agreement that we signed about a year ago. So yes, it is a multi-user license.

I've installed it always via the IOS app store.

Best regards

I contacted the Edu Support - here is the solution that worked:
- Uninstall ALL Affinity apps from the iPad. This removes the license information for Trial Keys completely.
- Restart iPad
- Reinstall Affinity apps. When starting the apps, they are not licensed and the prompt to license the app finally appears again.
Thank you for the support!
