gorodinskiy
Hello, I have Affinity designer 2.3.0(stable channel) on macOS(Ventura 13.6). I might be wrong but I think that fibonacci spiral is a bit off: spiral.afdesign I tried to align it to rectangles but can't seem to do it without stretching the spiral. pcam
The fibonacci spiral is a series of quarter circles. The quarter circles are not in rectangles but in squares. This spiral cannot be created with a simple equation. The developers may have used an approximation. This could be the reason for the differences. In your example document you have not used squares; could that be the problem you are seeing? It’s worth noting that, as it says in the Help (my emphasis): “Fibonacci—the spiral approximates the golden spiral using quarter turn angles derived from the Fibonacci sequence (0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13); the spiral is drawn out from its centre.”

Oh my bad, they were squares initially but maybe they lost proportions when I scaled them at some point. Sorry 🙁
GarryP
No problem, just one of those things – easily done by anyone. P.S. Did you know that you can quickly make a rectangle into a square by double-clicking the top/bottom/right/left handle rather than dragging it? (This works with other shapes too.) ronnyb
