spanarl Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 I have been trying to paint on a mask layer added to a curve adjustment layer but the paint brush tool has no effect; it only works on the background layer. The screenshot shows the layout. I have been following a tutorial so I don't know what the problem could be. Any guidance would be appreciated. Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. You're using a Blend Mode of Overlay (see Context Toolbar). Try Normal, instead. GarryP Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 I think it’s worth pointing out that Adjustment Layers automatically have their own built-in mask. When you have the Adjustment layer selected you can paint on it to mask out whatever parts of the adjustment you don’t want – like you would by using a mask layer but without the extra mask layer. See attached video for a quick (and crudely done) demonstration of two ways to use it. Note: The same thing goes for Live Filters too. 2023-11-20 08-53-45.mp4 walt.farrell 1 Quote
