I believe that having a support forum where 3 products live together (Photo, Designer, Publisher) generate a lot of confusion in asking question and retrieving answers, but overall is a nightmare for who reads the forum to get a continuous flow of information for a specific product.

Given too that the daily number of post is high, IMHO it is too complcate to manage: one may just follow a question which is raides by himself, finding the rest is very complcated .

I understand that there are questions which are common between the various products, but I've never seen any forum where different products are supported all together, creating a confused mix of information, which overrides the small advantage of a sigle support flow where some of the issues are common among the different products.

For the 1.x versions they had four areas: one for questions common to the products and one for each individual product.

The problem is that people would post the same thing separately for each product, and duplicate threads would still be created within each product, so instead of 2-3 redundant threads all asking for the same thing, there would be...  a lot more than that.

Of course, combining them like this does create a different set of problems, as you pointed out, so in the end it is something of a toss-up.
