version 2.2.1 for mac will not install

Do you have Norton antivirus installed by any chance? If so try disabling it.

If restarting doesn't fix it, you might have to wait for Serif's help on this. In the meantime, it would be helpful to know whether you installed from the Mac App Store or directly from Serif's website. If you installed from the App Store and you're in a hurry, try installing the three apps directly from Serif's website. You'd have to set them up again but it might avoid the issue.

Did a restart allow you to install the update?  

Can't say this is an error I've seen before when updating Affinity.  From the screenshots, I suspect you are using the Affinity Store version of Affinity Designer and not the Mac App Store version, but if you could confirm that for me, that would be great

tis indeed a store version as is "photo"......photo updated quite nicely and yes i did a restart and restart again and did a number of install trys too.....always gets to that error message in screen shot 4

still no resolve to my issue of not being able to update affinity designer ..........what can i do to update?
