Boeskoolke Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 I'm running AF version 2.2 on my iMac with Ventura 13.6 and when I try opening Nikon NEF files it takes minutes to open 3 files at the same time. How can I accelerate this proces? Quote
Staff Lee D Posted November 3, 2023 Staff Posted November 3, 2023 You can check to see if Hardware Acceleration (Metal Compute) is enabled within the apps Settings > Performance. The size of the RAW files may have an affect as well as the location they're stored such as an SSD, Cloud or Network location. You can also try changing the RAW engine being used within the Develop personas assistant. Other than that, everything is handled behind the scenes. Quote
Boeskoolke Posted November 4, 2023 Author Posted November 4, 2023 In my settings hardware acceleration is metal compute enabled. I changed the RAW engine into Apple Core and this gives some extra speed. Nevertheless, 6 RAW photo's of 160 Mb total need 50 seconds to import. Is this a normal import speed? Then I have to live with it. Could it be an advantage to convert the NEF photo's into another format? Quote
