Vinterstille Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 When importing the same image in Publisher and InDesign, both set to sRGB - the colours are clearly incorrect in Publisher. sRGB is set in program settings AND for the document. What can I do to change this? If you look at the UI in Publisher in the screenshot, you can see bright colors CAN be shown in the software, but I just can't get the document to show bright colors. The screenshot below is taken on a normal 1440p 10 bit Philips screen. The differences is even more vivid in real life than when importing this picture to this forum. Quote

I was talking about the OP's attachments (screenshot and image file) in a correctly colour managed browser and when I open the attachments in other colour managed software on my Mac. These attachments show the image being displayed wrongly in Affinity on the OP's machine for some reason. Obscured 1 Quote

The forum software messes with uploaded image files before displaying them, so pease zip up your iStock sample image file and screenshot then attach the zip file in a new comment. Quote
thomaso Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Your Affinity document colour setting shows a certain moment of this document. It does not tell the conditions for document creation + handling of placed files. • Can you show your Affinity colour preferences? • Did you change the colour settings between creation and screenshot … … in your document properties? … in your Affinity colour preferences? Also note, – your ID settings use an "Adobe (ACE)" rendering engine which isn't available in Affinity. – changing the Affinity colour preferences after document creation has no influence for existing documents. Your uploaded image source seems to be different from my iStock layout download – while both are RGB and have no profile embedded.
