Blocked from making changes to image

If Ioad a jpeg into Affinity 2 and make changes and then either save or expoort/save I get a message saying photo.exe has prevented changes taking place.

Sinilarly if I atempt to close the modified image, I get a message warning that image has not been saved - do you wish to save, IfYES selected, givs mesage  Cannot save Image.

This has sudenly starte hapening. last week no problem, and as far as I know, I haven't made any changes  to my PC.

Can you give us a screen recording or at least a screenshot showing the error message?

What version of the OS are you using, and what version of Affinity Photo?

Thanks for reply. I am usung Windows 10. Have just realised that the problem has only occured since updating to Affinity 2,2. When loading a jpeg image into affinity get anme transistory message on bottom RHS (see AF1). Clicking for details gives panel shown in AF2 and AF3. If theimage is modified then export/save get the message shown in AF4.

Is my Windows Defender objecting to the the new updte? If so How do I  persuade it to accept it?

I am afraid this probably shows my ignorance of setting up my PC. Apologies

You will need to update your Controlled Folder Access settings, and allow the application to write into the folder. Probably you had allowed this before, and with the update you need to allow the new version of the application to work with those folders.
