  1. Thanks for your detailed reply. I understand the function of the theory. My problem is that when I view an image in "My Pictures" taken with an IR filter on the camera, the "colouir " is modified as expected. If I then open this image with Affinity, the image given then has a strong blue cast. However, if I then export this image, the saved image is the same colour balance as the first image. Why does opening in Affinity not give the same as that in "My Picvtures"?
  2. I have just started experimenting ! I have a Panasonoc FZ100 adapted for full spectrum. I have UV/IR, 680and 950 fiters. If I take jpeg photos they look as expected. If I open in Affinity 2, the UV/IR images look normal visible images, but the images using the other filters have a strong blue cast. Channel swapping still maintains blue cast. What am I missing/doing wrong? Would 590 or 720 filters be more succesful. Thanks
  3. Thanks for reply. I am usung Windows 10. Have just realised that the problem has only occured since updating to Affinity 2,2. When loading a jpeg image into affinity get anme transistory message on bottom RHS (see AF1). Clicking for details gives panel shown in AF2 and AF3. If theimage is modified then export/save get the message shown in AF4. Is my Windows Defender objecting to the the new updte? If so How do I persuade it to accept it? I am afraid this probably shows my ignorance of setting up my PC. Apologies
  4. If Ioad a jpeg into Affinity 2 and make changes and then either save or expoort/save I get a message saying photo.exe has prevented changes taking place. Sinilarly if I atempt to close the modified image, I get a message warning that image has not been saved - do you wish to save, IfYES selected, givs mesage Cannot save Image. This has sudenly starte hapening. last week no problem, and as far as I know, I haven't made any changes to my PC.
  5. Attempting to use an Affinity REvolution instruction to blur backgrounds. Succesfully followed the directions which were based on Affinity 1, Obtained an image with an ovrall blur to background, but unable to follow how to have a gradient background blur. I couldn't find a separate layer just of the Gaussian Blur layer to attach a gradient to. Should using filter/blur/depth of field blur be better, if so how. I tried it and blurred the whole image
  6. I process images with Affinity v2 and Export to suitable file. If I open the exported picture using My Pictures in W10, the image looks less "punchy" than the processed image in the Affinity programe. If I then "Open with" this picture into Affinity2, the resulting image is back to the ideal image as developed. Why the difference?
  7. Every time I loaded a picture into Affinity v2 from My Pictures, I got a warning That a virus had been blocked, but the image seemed to load OK. If I then worked on the image and tried to save or export, Told that image not available. I uninstalled Affinity, and nw canot re-install it. Any Advice? Thanks
  8. I haver taken a series of pictures of a concert under artificial light. I can correct the balance OK for individual images, bit can I correct for an initial image and then batch process the rest using these corrections? I am using V2. Thanks Richard
  9. How do I import free macros in V2. I tried downloading a free macro, looked at my downloads and couldn't see it.In V1 used to use "View/Studio/Library/Import macro Can't find this route in V2 I
  10. I am afraid I am being a bit thick!! In the macro for borders, how did you go from Bkg to " select layerr" and "Select second from Bottom" ?
  11. Many thanks for the replies. I will try the macro route - looks very good. My method is to assemble the slides I want to use for a slide show as jpegs and perform any post development, including cropping etc. - if necessary reduce size. - At that point would like to batch process a white border. After that, woud use Pictures2Exe to produce the final show. Open to any suggstions to an improved route! Thanks again
  12. I lke to finish my digital projected images with a white border. Having asembled a slide show, is it possible to batch process the collection wih a white border? The images would not all be the same aspect ratio.
  13. Thanyou for your reply. I amafraid I will be displaying my ignorance of correct procedure and fine details!! I downloaded a calibration image to "My Pictures". Then opened it from there with Affinity Photo. Chose ADOBE RGB as colour space, developed and saved as jpeg in "My PIctures". When, later, tried to calibrate printer, ope3ned Affinity Photo, browsed and selected the final saved image, printed with printer (canon IP8750) at default settings. Then adjusted, one at a time, the printer settings under "options", printing again to see results. To me this seemed logical, but admit to a great lack of understanding!!
  14. I have adjusted my printer using a calibration image when printing from Affinity Photo. Results not perfect but passable. If I print the same image via Publisher, using the same printer settings, the colour balance is different. I have been told that if using Photoshop, it is better to let PS adjust the cplour rather than adjust the printer. Is this possible using Affinity? What is the best way for getting the printed image to match the monitor image in Publisher and Photo? Are there (preferably not too complicated !) tutorials on the subject? Thanks
