eduardotanco
When moving text or images around in Affinity publisher it lags a lot, everything is choppy, image and text artifacts appears on screen as shown in the videos. The problem affects mostly when moving elements around. When opening the same file on Affinity Designer (also tested AF Photo) no issues and everything works fine. Olso notice that the issue is mostly noticeable when using an external mouse rather than the trackpad. also notice that the same file in designer when using the mouse has no problems and everything looks smooth. Please help everyone, its a very annoying problem. (AF Publisher 2.1.1 - Mac OS: 13.5.1 - MBPro M1 8GB 2020) Fresh install of all affinity apps olso. Image and text slow and laggy. Olso i checked the current RAM usage by AF Publisher this time and it was not more than 900mb. so I guess is not limited by RAM. Should be other thing. MikeTO
I downloaded your test file and it was very, very fast for me on an M1 Pro with 16GB. Other than memory of course, all of your settings are identical to mine except for two settings which you should change. Unfortunately, they won't make it faster but if you don't change them you'll likely run into some seemingly random crashes. Disable Hardware Acceleration > Enable Metal Compute Acceleration and change Display from Metal to OpenGL. Fortunately, it should still be plenty fast even with those changed. Tried to change the settings you said but nothing sadly. Same error as before unfortunately. Olso installed the 2.2 Betas and the error was not present, everything works fine again in the betas!! So I guess I will use them until they release the official update. Thanks for your time, if something new related with this error occurs I will post it here again!! since them I could say problem solved.
