New icon appearing in bottom right of Publisher windows

Recommended Posts

Hi, please refer to attached screenshot. Does anyone know what that icon is that's started appearing in the bottom right corners? It doesn't actually do anything and isn't clickable, just annoying me.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums @AlanM04

That icon is not part of Publisher.

It’s probably there via some kind of screen recording application, or something similar.
Edit: It’s possible that it could be something to do with a graphics driver, I’m not sure.
Have you updated/installed anything else recently?

I think I’ve seen it before but can’t remember what it’s part of (someone else may know); it’s definitely not got anything to do with Publisher though.

Hi Garry, thanks for your quick reply.

The only thing I have is the Nvidia Geforce software but that's always been there. It's strange though, they only appear when I open a file in Publisher and only in the Publisher windows. They don't appear on anything else at all - Nothing on PS, AI, ID or even my legacy Corel Draw X5.

I’m sure someone else will have a better idea of what’s causing them than I do.

I’ve not had this issue myself but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it reported in these forums before.

I think it might be a graphics driver thing; maybe it only comes up with Publisher because of the way the Affinity applications use the graphics cards, or something like that.

Hopefully someone will come along soon who knows exactly what’s causing them and how to get rid of them.
