Joyce D
My main reason to have Affinity Photo is to be able to save photos of my artwork for print production and need to know specifics such as dpi. I see the resolution (i.e. 1920x1080 pixels) and image color along with file size however cannot find how to determine what DPI image is. I need 300dpi ideally. Every place I look it shows how to determine dpi from Photos yet I cannot find a way to save. I need 300dpi ideally. Any suggestions? Thanks so much! Old Bruce
Welcome to the forums @Joyce D, If you know what size you are going to print at then you could make a new Document of that size, let us say 8 x 10 inches. Set its DPI to 300 and you'll get a 2,400 x 3,000 pixel document. You can then place you photo in/on that new document. You may want to open an existing file and Resize it as it is too small or large or the wrong DPI, here you see that I have a 144dpi image. Note that the physical size is the same, just the dpi is changed with the Resample checked. Here the physical size is changed, as well as the dpi. Joyce D
thanks so much Old Bruce. The issue is that I need the image to be ready for multiple sizes made to order by another vendor. I just don't see where the dpi is listed as in your example. I'm using Mac computer is that makes a difference. Appreciate you taking the time to reply, thanks! Old Bruce uses a Mac too, as can be seen from his signature! - And from his shown screenshots you can see that he uses the top menu entry ... Document -> Resize Document ... ... and there then ... For a loaded in image with the selected background layer of the image in the layers panel, when switching over to the Move Tool it shows on top left "Background (Pixel) xxdpi"... An image (like an imported/Placed .JPEG file), a Rectangle, Text, Pixel layers that you can paint on, Filter Layers, Adjustment layers, Groups etc. Even a Layer layer is a layer. A Layer is available in Designer and Publisher, kind of like a Group.
