Import Files lagging Affinity Publisher

Hi,

So: I have an Affinity Pub file that I'm working on. It has about 54 pages of text and graphics. When I PLACE the next (50pgs) part of the book Affinity Publisher hangs (doesn't come back after 40 minutes).

So: What do I do?

1. I can create another book just for this new chapter. If I do that, how do I merge them for the final piece?

2. I can try copy-pasting from the new file but I really want to avoid that if I can. Would it make a difference? I feel like Place is the better option.

3. The import file is only 77k (it's a .docx derrived from a google docs file). I can't think of why it would be slagging Affinity Publisher so hard. Any thoughts?

@marco_chacon If you do end up having multiple documents, you can use the Books panel to merge them to a new file.

There may be an underlying issue within the file that's causing the issue. If you can send me a DM with a link to the files and also confirm your workflow I can take a look, just in case.

Thanks--I just broke it up and did it piecemeal. If it happens again, I'll let you know.
