Affinity Photo 2 on Multiple Monitors

Recommended Posts

I am running AF 2.1.1 on a Dell desktop Windows/11. I have 2 monitors, both 3840x2160.

The goal is to have my workspace, that is the photo, on one monitor and all tools and panels on the other monitor.

When I open a panel, it displays for a fraction of a second on top of the photo, then disappears. If I collapse the photo then I can find it "under" where the photo was.

Frequently the photo panel will distort. Sometimes only half of it is displayed. I have to Alt-Space R to restore it.

Looking thru the archives it seems as if similar problems were previously reported.

When will Affinity address these?

Thanks

That is unrelated to the problem I experience. I've pasted an image of my 2 screens below.

I have the photo displayed on the 1st monitor for editing. And AF's control window on the 2nd monitor. I want to use some tool - maybe the Adjust Curves. So I press Ctl-M.

The curves window displays briefly on the 1st monitor then disappears.

To get it to display so I can work with it, I have to minimize the window on 1st monitor, move the Curves window to the 2nd monitor and Restore the window on the 1st monitor. Sometime when I restore, only half of the window on the 1st monitor is displayed.

The whole process is very inconvenient. I hoped it would change when I moved from V1 to V2, but it is exactly the same.

I can duplicate what you do and don't have your problem after the first adjustment.

On the retail version first adjustment I open jumps screens and hides behind the image on the other screen. If I drag it back the rest are fine.

On more testing the beta is the same. Work around for me is to open an adjustment before I move the image.

RichardMH - Our experience seems to be similar except

- you did not mention AF sometimes displaying partial windows.

- the work around you mention works for awhile for me, then at a seemingly random interval, another window will appear/disappear.

Thanks for the insight

The issue "[Win] Adjustment windows pop up behind floated documents instead of above." (REF: AF-335) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.4.0.2279".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
