Printing wrong size from iPad

Recommended Posts

If I make a 2 inch square in Affinity Designer iPad and print it, the printout is never the correct size. When I print from other apps such as Procreate and save as PDF when printing, it works perfectly. Is this a bug or am I overlooking something? Would appreciate your help. I'm a teacher and use Affinity in my classes but it must print out a perfect size for the projects my students are working on.

Example photos show the incorrect printout size. Stroke is to the inside as it should be.

Would appreciate a solution.

Thanks!

Hi @Engraver

Welcome to the forums.

Would you be able to confirm your workflow within Designer iPad for me. Are you using the Print option from the Document menu  which uses the built in Airprint options provided by the OS or are you exporting to PDF and then printing that, if so which app are you then using?

That is the only option to print directly from within our app but it uses the built in print options provided by iPadOS which we don't control. In terms of your document, are the dimensions the same size as the paper you're printing to, so no scaling needs to take place?

It may also be worth exporting to PDF and printing that instead to compare, as it may at least offer a workaround for the moment.
