export v1 psd to v2 problem

Hi,

I exported my v1 psd to v2 but almost all my vector layers in all documents turned into pixel layers. Why is the so? 

Also, my text turn to pixel layers too even though I have the fonts on v2? Why is it not recognising the text?

You shouldn't need to Export your document to transfer it from V1 to V2 Affinity apps, you can simply save the file from V1 in the native Affinity format (.afphoto, .afdesign etc) and then open this file within V2 to continue editing.

From the screenshot you've provided, it appears as though you've applied FX to your layers - these are only compatible within Affinity and will be rasterised to pixel layers when exporting to any format, including .PSD

When exporting any PSD from Affinity (V1 or V2), your text will be rasterised to a pixel layer in order to retain the correct appearance when opening the PSD in other applications. Unfortunately this by design and there's no option to change this PSD export behaviour at this time, my apologies.

Thanks for the reply, Dan.

Very unfortunately, I did what you suggested to no avail. Looks like I have to redo all my documents from scratch. Big challenges and Super Big headache.

I have 2 iPads, only the older iPad have both the v1 and v2.

On the old iPad, I first flatten (no FX etc.) all the curves in v1 then I transfer to v2, not all but many recognise the curves. I do all the necessary editing on v2 from pixel to vector then I transfer my new iPad v2. Guess what, it still turn to pixel!!!  I wonder what kind of challenges would I face when I transfer from my iPad to my Mac platform? I fear thinking about it. 

What is so strange is that v2 on both iPads are of two different versions!?! Before the recent (yesterday?) update, both v2 on the two iPads are the same. After the update, I get this (pics)!

I'm sorry, I think you've misunderstood my reply.

Firstly, if you Flatten any layer, this will convert it to a Pixel layer before exporting. You should not use a Flatten option if you want to retain Curve layers.

Secondly, it sounds as though you are still Exporting and not Saving the document - saving the file to the .afdesign format will allow you to transfer the document to Affinity on a different iPad, or on Desktop without any of your layers changing or being rasterised to Pixel layers.

Your screenshots show that on one iPad, the app has not yet been updated. Version 2.0.4.5 is the previous version, whilst Version 1799 is the most up to date.

Please ensure that the iPad showing version 2.0.4.5 is updated to the latest version through the iPad App Store
