Can Anybody explain or help with this anomaly please? I have the English United Kingdom selected in preferences.  Cheers John.  Update I have answered my own question.  Somehow the region in windows 11 had changed to English AS

I know this is an old post, but for others coming across it:

This issue will arise when you place text created with another application that has its language set to one for which you don't have an equivalent spelling dictionary installed. In this case, you had Windows set to English (American Samoa) and created text in another app which resulted in a file with en_AS text. If you installed an English American Samoa dictionary the error would go away, but such a dictionary doesn't exist. Some apps, and Windows itself, handle this differently, and dynamically map regional variants of English that don't have a dictionary to English US (en_US). Affinity shows you an error.

If you really wanted to keep your computer set to English American Samoa, the solution would be to download the en_US dictionary, rename the files to en_AS, and install those. But since you don't want to keep your computer set to American Samoa, the problem can be fixed by simply changing the text to English US. You could do this by editing the text styles, selecting the text and applying the language directly, or though Find and Replace.

Cheers
