Publisher: pdf export with color bars and register marks is off-center

Recommended Posts

This is a returning bug that was already solver on v1. When exporting a pdf with all marks active, specially the color bars, the final pdf is off-center vertically, due to the color bars being excessively low of place. This causes serious problems in page imposition software at printshop, as the bleed area and content gets displaced from its expected place.

This was reported and solved on v1. By now only solution is to export with only crop marks or not marks at all.

In publisher 2.1.0 (1790) And also in Publisher current release. Mac OS.

Attached original APUB and exported PDF.

I drew 4 rectangles snapped to horizontal/vertical mid of the document. And the marks are in the centre. Am I missing something?

Is not that the marks are de-centered, but the whole pdf. the color bars goes down more than the document info goes up, so the marks are centered over the content but decentered over the pdf as a whole (All content is decentered in fact). Imposition software places the documents based on the center of the pdf, expecting the marks to be centered over it, which is not the case.

So, distance from center mark to upper pdf side is smaller than distance from center mark to lower pdf side, causing the issue.  Distance from bar to pdf lower border should be the same than document info to upper border.,

I hope that my broken English is understable…1448346343_Capturadepantalla2023-05-10alas13_46_07.png.438b0031040b0a6c6b67c8b80840bbec.png.
