afrazo Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Ola! Apologies if I've missed this, but couldn't find an answer with my meagre searching skills. I'd like advise on inking real life pencil sketches in Photo (or Designer?). So far the best result I've had has been creating a new layer, going over the lines with the brush tool, and discarding the initial "background" layer. It works _okay_, but I'm a newbie and am sure there's a better way. I'm not getting the nice comic brush strokes I'd like like, because it's difficult to see my strokes over the background image I'm tracing. Any tips at all are welcome Thanks! Quote
Komatös Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Hi @afrazo and welcome to the forums. Set the layer opacity to 25% or higher, so that you can still see fine lines of the background image, but the background image does not become too dominant in the foreground. afrazo 1 Quote MAC mini M4 | MacOS Sequoia 15.5 | 16 GB RAM | 256 GB SSD AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9060 XT 16 GB | 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz | Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.4351) Windows 11 Pro on VMWare Virtual Machine (on Mac) Affinity Suite V 2.6.3 & Beta 2.6 (latest) Interested in a free (selfhosted) PDF Solution? firstdefence Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Colour the pencil sketch layer so you differentiate between the sketch and the black strokes you are making, you can use the Recolour Adjustment Filter to do this.
