stevenkocaj Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I was wanting to know how to bend selected text into a curve, similar to warping in Ai? I saw another post that also asked this question, although I couldn't make my text curve using Artistic Text Tool as I think was suggested. Thanks in advance. best-aleksander 1 Quote
Uuiop Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Hi stevenkocaj, welcome :). Assuming that you want to write text along a curved line, you can find two excellent tutorial videos here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10815-in-house-affinity-designer-video-tutorials/ (see section 8, Text). Otherwise you can distort and edit individual letters by Convert (-ing a bit of text) to Curves, ungrouping the result and using the Node tool to add, subtract, and move individual nodes (or letters). Look for the ungrouped and converted 'letter' shapes in Layers. Hope this helps a bit. Quote
Staff MEB Posted March 1, 2016 Staff Posted March 1, 2016 Hello stevenkocaj, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Other than editing the nodes of the curves manually as Uuiop explained there isn't an easy way to distort text in Designer yet from scratch. We already have Perspective and Warp Distortion Tools in Affinity roadmap but i don't know when they will become available. Meanwhile if you already have Affinity Photo you can use its raster based Perspective and Mesh Warp distortions Tool to bend text. You can easily switch between the two programs going to File ▸ Edit in Photo/Designer... Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
