Hello, I'd like to know if

1. the software can show the sample of foreign language when selecting the font

2. Can I group a type of font? For example, I'd like to group the demo font for personal use only

3. Can I change the font default? How pls

Thanks so much

Hi. You can change your default font by starting a new document (so all of the other attributes are at their defaults), choosing the font you want, and then choosing Edit > Defaults > Save.

You cannot change the text that is shown as the sample for a font—it will always show the font name. This is nice in some ways because if you're looking for Garamond you can subconsciously look for serif fonts and scan past all of the sans serif ones while also looking for one starting with G. But having different sample names for each font is bad because it makes it very hard to compare them.

It would be ideal if Affinity let you choose your own sample text. The best thing you can do for now is to type the same you want to format, select it, and then scroll through the font menu. As you highlight each font name the text in your document will change. This will let you create your own samples.

Cheers

Hi Thanks for your response. However, let me explain more. I'd like Affinity add the sample of foreign language after the name like in the picture. Thus, we can see both English and the foreign language at the same time. It would be great if Affinity grants these kinds of small features on it.

Thanks for your consideration🙏🙏

I understand your request but if Affinity let users customize the sample text then it could be used for any language. For now you cannot change the sample so you must type the text into a frame, select it, and then move the mouse through the list to watch the selected text change.

Is it now possible to upload the Thai font to Affinity 2.1 and if so, how can I do it?

I can use Thai font since the first version of Affinity. You just install foreign fonts you'd like in your computer. Then you choose the typeface you'd like to use in Affinity. I'm not sure if this helps.
