Michael Riggs Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I got some great Aurora images from a few nights ago that I'm very happy with. But then I go to edit them and make the pillars more prominent I notice some terrible star coma in the corners. They almost look like comets. What methods are there to reduce their size or visibility are there in AF? Canon EOS RP Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 (original version) 16mm, f/2.8, 30 sec, ISO 640 Quote
Staff Callum Posted April 28, 2023 Staff Posted April 28, 2023 Hi Michael, Welcome to the forums If possible could you provide a copy of the image in question so I can see what you are working with? If you would rather not post it publicly let me know and I'll provide a link to our DropBox. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
Michael Riggs Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 Thank you! Here's what I got. View the stars in the upper right corner and they are mis-shaped. You're likely to ignore them with the overall image but I want to make sure it looks as good as possible if I make a large print. It's an older lens, the newer versions handle stars better but are several times the price. Quote
