Hi there,

We've recently moved to Affinity V2 and are investigating some corruption issues when accessing files over a network share.
We've been investigating by attempting to access the file with multiples users. It looks like files first opened by Windows and older Mac OSes are either opening as read-only or refusing to open at all (which makes sense), but files first opened by Ventura can be opened and written to by other Macs (Windows opens it as Read-Only). Looking further into it, it looks like the file is getting locked when opened on Windows and pre-Ventura, but not on Ventura.

Note that the file IS getting locked if the file is opened when Ventura is loaded. It's only when the file is opened after Publisher is already open that the lock isn't happening.

This is happening with all V2 Apps, but we've initially noticed it on Publisher. I couldn't find a 'general Affinity V2 bugs' subforum but probably should go there if so.

Is this intended behaviour? The method of accessing is funky, but it seems weird that other OSes consistently prevent others from accessing the file when in use, but Ventura doesn't.

Thanks for looking, and please let me know if you've got further questions about the setup.

Hi JDewis,

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums :)

This is not supported I'm afraid. The file should be locked and although at present this can be inconsistent. this is addressed in the current beta.  This will be addressed in a future patch.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the confirmation on that. The file locking's become a huge concern in adopting the software, so appreciate that it's being looked into.

Is it possible to get a timeframe on how long it typically takes for bugs like this to get patched? Understandable if it's too varied to call, but if it is possible to estimate it'd help a lot in communicating this to our users.
