Greenbeetle Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Hi, The basic Move Tool selection of a group is no longer working for me... Unless I first select the group in the Layers palette, only the object my cursor lands on is selected. Can anyone throw any light on this? Could well be user error, but it's a major change in use that's causing real problems in my work. Thanks for looking, LM Quote
GarryP Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Try deselecting the “Allow selection to consider items inside a group” button on the Context Toolbar when you have the Move Tool selected – see attached image. Quote
Greenbeetle Posted April 18, 2023 Author Posted April 18, 2023 Thanks, Garry! You're a life saver, it was driving me round the twist. I suppose that's a useful option if you're up to speed, but I couldn't find anything in the Help manual under "Grouping Objects". Much obliged, LM Quote
GarryP Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 You’re welcome. (You’re not the first to notice that something has changed.) It might be good if you could create a new feedback thread asking for this information to be added to the “Grouping objects” page of the Help since it’s useful information for people working with groups. The Ctrl key modifier for ‘drill-down’ is mentioned, but this new button isn't. Quote
walt.farrell Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 It is mentioned elsewhere in the Help, but mainly as a function of Selecting. (By the way, it also anpplies to Picture Frames, which I don't think is mentioned.)
