moving content inside a mask without the content leaving the mask

Hello, I am going through a situation that its quite annoying. Every time that I want to move around the content inside a mask, it just jumps out of it. is it always like this? its quite annoying!

can you explain in more detail what you try to achieve, and upload screenshots or screen recordings?

I don't now how to interpret "how to move around "content" inside a mask. What exactly do you mean:

 

mask: a mask layer, or inherent mask (alpha channel) of pixel, adjustment, filter layer

selection: a selection of pixels within the canvas.

 

content:

• parts of the mask itself (areas of pixels from mask)
• areas if pixels in layers the mask is nested to?
• layers nested to a mask layer?

move:

• move a pixel selection?
• move a layer in layer stack?

inside mask:

• pixel area inside mask
• layer in layer stack?
