andortvoice Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 I created a TOC (Table of Content) on a document I'm working on, but every time I try to select the separator from the menu, Publisher immediately closes. I'm using a Macbook Pro M1. Quote
MikeTO Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Hi @andortvoice and welcome to the forums. I'm unable to duplicate this issue in 2.0.4 on Ventura with an M1 Pro. Could you please try this really basic test document? It has two headings and thus two TOC entries - does Publisher crash when you choose the separator for this document, too? If not, are you able to share your document here publicly for testing? Serif might provide you with a private dropbox link later if you're unable to share publicly. andortvoice Posted April 12, 2023 Author Posted April 12, 2023 Hi @MikeTO thank you for answering. Whenever I select any of the separators is crashes. I cannot share the document for privacy reasons. I have a Macbook Pro 13" M1 (2020). Quote
MikeTO Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 That's very odd. This is a wild guess, but do you have Grammarly running? There was a recent bug with Grammarly causing a crash with a similar text field in the Find and Replace panel. Removing Grammarly made those crashes go away. The problem seemed to have resolved itself but without Serif changing anything on their end. I wonder if it's the same cause popping up somewhere else. andortvoice 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
andortvoice Posted April 12, 2023 Author Posted April 12, 2023 Thank you so much @MikeTO actually I did have Grammarly running. As soon as I close it the separator works just fine. MikeTO 1 Quote

I'm glad it was an easy fix. @Serif Info Bot It appears AFB-7131 (the Grammarly issue) has migrated from the Find & Replace panel to the Notes panel. One more question - where did you install Publisher from? From Serif's own website or from the Apple App Store? I'm asking because Grammarly's website states that it's not compatible with apps installed from the Apple App Store: https://support.grammarly.com/hc/en-us/articles/4428282986893-Grammarly-for-Mac-doesn-t-work-in-certain-apps-for-Mac Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
