Selection option to reinvoke the last selection from the select menu

Can we get an option to select the last selection from the select menu? I sometimes have to redo a selection when I change a bunch of vector objects, which I deselect to get rid of the blue selection lines. Ideally, it should work in a way where if you trigger it once, you get the last selection, if you trigger it twice, you get the selection before that, etc. A separate selection undo stack if you will.
