Affinity Photo crashes when trying to open a PSD file

Hi everyone

I just got the Affinity suite but still have access to Adobe through my study institution. 

When I try to open a PSD file Affinity Photo immediately crashes.

I've tried File > Open > Select PSD doc = crash

I've tried File > Create New Doc > Place > Select PSD = loads for 10 secs then crashes

Please help, I'm not sure what is wrong and I want to fully transfer to Affinity and if i need to use Adobe to convert while I still have access I need to do that.

Thanks for your report and I'm sorry to hear this!

Firstly I'd like to try enabling the PSD import options under Edit > Preferences > General to see if this resolves the crashing -

If the app continues to crash after changing these settings, can you please attach a copy of this PSD file here for me?

Out of interest, if you create a new, blank file, does the app also crash?
