Matching ruler units to reflect a custom drawing scale

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I create custom maps and enjoy being able to draw my maps at a real world scale. I have no problems setting a custom scale for the document and getting objects to display their dimensions accordingly. However, I am unable to get the rulers (or grids) to display units according to the custom scale. Is there a way to do this?

e.g., I set a drawing scale to 1:40. I can drag and draw a box from, for example, 0 to 640cm wide but the ruler still only shows 16cm (the paper size not the scaled size). I can change the ruler units to show 160mm or to the equivalent in points but not to reflect the dimensions as per the custom scaling. How can I get the ruler (and grids) to show scaled units?

Hi @Mk1S welcome to the forums,

The Rulers, Grids and Guides should show the scaled document units when a drawing scale is assigned to a document as referenced in the help notes, however unfortunately these don't currently update and will still reflect the original document scale and Unit of Measurement, apologies. This is currently logged with the developers for resolution, i've now bumped it with your report.
