mage1 Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Been trialling AD2 as a long time Illustrator user and think the software is great. It's worked pretty flawlessly for the 20 days I've been using it so far but today it just won't open any file or create a new document. The app freezes and my PC becomes sluggish until I force close it through task manager. Memory hangs at about 500mb and 8% CPU utilisation. The memory use varies a little bit over 10 minutes, often dropping a few MB so it's not a memory leak. If I disconnect the second monitor it immediately recovers. I have two displays connected to my PC. The primary is a 2K desktop monitor and the second is a large 4K OLED. The 4K display is not always on as it's in another room. Is there a way I can prevent this from happening without having to disconnect the monitor every time? Maybe it's a windows setting but every other app I use manages OK (Autodesk Inventor, EAGLE, Cubase etc). Quote
Dan C Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Hi @mage1, Welcome to the Affinity Forums & sorry to hear you're having trouble! That's certainly interesting behaviour, I have both a 2K & 4K monitor connected to my PC here and I'm not seeing the same freezing when opening/creating documents, so this may be related to your GPU/drivers. Can you please open Affinity Designer 2 and navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here for me? Many thanks in advance Quote
