Hello,

I'm compiling a magazine using Affinity Publisher V2.04. When I shift pages around to reorder the magazine content, I often encounter that the actual content of a page seems to disappear. Initially I thought it effectively disappeared, but I then found out that the page content is actually shifted to somewhere way outside the page. I think this might be a bug as sometimes it does work after freshly opening the document, then after a couple of reorders it breaks... Is this effectively a bug or am I missing something.

In any case it is very annoying and I end up having to resort to saving after every step that worked and reopening the document if it failed (undo does not solve it).
Below an example of what happens after a 'failed' reorder.

Hello!

I'm using 2.5.4 and this is happening to me now. Randomly, after adding new pages via right clicking on them on the pages panel and inputting how many pages after a page should be created, elements in other pages will disappear. This is highly frustrating and time consuming to correct afterwards, or reloading a previous save. Thanks.

Hi @gianfrancog and welcome to the forums. This issue happens when adding, deleting, and moving single pages in a facing pages document. It is best to add, delete, and move both sides of a facing page spread together.

If you must add, delete, or move a single page, you should re-apply the master page to both of the two impacted spreads which will likely fix the problem for you. If it doesn't, then you will have to fix it manually.

Turning off View > View Mode > Clip to Canvas will allow you to more easily see objects that are off the page. This feature hides objects that are completely off the canvas (page).

Good luck

I'm using version 2.5.5, and this issue is occurring right now. It's a very bad thing! I switched from InDesign, and nothing like this ever happened there!

I'm very angry; too many hours of work have led to a frustrating result!

I'm using 2.6 and this is STILL happening. After all these years of using software, I still default to thinking it must be operator (me) error. But, no, it seems this issue is known and hasn't been fixed. I went out on a limb and switched from InDesign to Affinity. I was expecting differences, but not major flaws like this...

Hi @Natalieakamom and welcome to the forums.

The issues with adding, moving, and deleting single pages were fixed in 2.6. If you're experiencing an issue, you may want to change one of the Page Reflow options.

In the Pages panel's options menu, choose Reapply Masters if required to keep your spreads the way you want them. Choose Page Reflow > Anchor Toward Spine to prevent content shifting location when pages change sides of the spread. You may need to experiment depending on how your document is structured. More information can be found in Help: https://affinity.help/publisher2/English.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Panels/pagesPanel.html&title=Pages panel

Or in my free Publisher manual which you can download from this forum using the link in my signature.

Cheers
