.aphoto layers in the Designer

Hey!
Can someone help me, please? I need to find out how I can use layers in an .aphoto image in Designer. In my .aphoto there is a photo as background and in the layer with mask I have a cropped figure. I would then need to use both – the complete photo, and just the masked character – in Designer. But when I turn off the background in one instance, it turns it off in the other instance too. I somehow managed to do this once, but I can't figure out how I did it. I just know I changed linked to embedded at some stage.

Just copy & paste the layers from one app (APh) over into the other one (ADe).
