Delay of up 6 to 10 seconds after opening or closing a file in Photo

When opening or closing a file in Photo my Wacom pen stops dead for 5 seconds or more.

Opening and closing a file using a mouse causes no issues and the mouse is still movable.

I assume this is Wacom issue but wanted to know if there is something interfering or causing it from Affinity.
