Title: Screen disappears when pressing the Asset button

"When I press the Asset button, the screen disappears and I can't work anymore. Please tell me how to fix it. Even after restarting, it doesn't get better."

Additional note: I am using the latest model of iPad, the iPad Air. I have recently added a lot of assets, and I suspect that they might be causing the issue. However, when I try to remove the assets by clicking on the button, the screen disappears and I cannot take any action. I have only purchased the iPad version, so I cannot access it from a computer.

You could try resetting the Assets to their "factory installed" state, which might recover the function of the Assets studio and let you start adding your assets again.

If you want to try that:

1. Make sure none of the Affinity V2 applications are running. You can do that from the iPadOS application selector (drag up from the bottom of the screen, and when you have the list of applications, flick the ones you need to close upward so they disappear) or by fully powering the iPad off and back on again.
2. Start Designer 2.
3. When you see the application splash screen, quickly double-tap it with one finger.
4. In the Clear User Data dialog, unselect the first option, select the Reset Assets option (second one).
5. Click Reset.

You will need to reinstall any Assets you have created or installed.

I can't comment on how things work internally for an iPad. On the desktop, all the Assets are kept in one file, which can get very large. And when it gets large it can take longer to read/write the file at startup and when you are changing the Assets. And it becomes more fragile, and yes it breaks more often.

So it is good to make sure you Export any Asset categories you create to make sure you have a back up of them, so that you can reinstall them if/when they break.
