geraldxx Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Hello! we purchased 3 universal-licenses with all 3 affinity V2 apps. We want to use the Affinity apps as device-license: Three computers, multiple different users will work on this computers. As far as i understood it's possible to use Affinity as device-license so that multiple users can login on this device and use the Affinity apps. The problem is: When i install the Affinity apps as admin and register the universal-license the next user who logs in to this device needs to register it again. This wasn't the case in Affinity V1, which worked well in this environment. My question is: 1. How do i install Affinity V2 apps as for device-license, so that it needs to be registered only 1 time (as admin)? 2. Or does every user on this device needs to re-register? How are the licenses counted then? Thanks for help :) Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @geraldxx. As I understand it, if you use the MSIX version of the installer you need to install it separately for each user account on the computer. However, if you download the EXE version of the installer (also available in your account) then it can be installed for all users, which I think is what you want. So, you should be able to uninstall the MSIX-based version you have installed, then download and install the EXE-based version. geraldxx Posted March 23, 2023 Author Posted March 23, 2023 Thanks for reply! Sorry, english isnt my native language so i try to be more precise: I already use the EXE installer and the Affinity-Apps are installed for all users on the device, this works well! The problem is: Every user (they login with differenet usernames) on this device needs to fill in the license key! In my understanding, as it was on V1, i should enter the license key as admin and the Affinity apps should be licensed for all users on this particular device, but they arent! Maybe im understanding something wrong but this should not be the case if i want "device license". Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Thanks. Your English was fine; I misunderstood or misread. My apologies. My memory of V1 the last time I tried that, was that each user had to activate the license, which seems to match what you're seeing on V2. However, this was with an individual license for the application, not a business license, which may work differently (especially in V2). I think you may have to wait for one of the Serif staff to provide the answer.
