Contour tool, meet Text. Text, meet Contour... Oh, no!

Recommended Posts

In a bit of rush here, excuses for shortness.

This might be related to this report.

Problem

When applied to (in this case) frame text with character style(s) applied, Contour tool produces unexpected/unwanted results. I behaves alright when applied to 'untouched' text. (clearer to see in the file attached)

— Theme song: Enya/Björk mashup... but I was unable to find any.

Affiñititos, how about a roadmap? (but with v2.1 efforts ... massive, tremendous improvement!)

Hi @Aleksandar Kovač,

Thanks for your report!

I can confirm that our team are aware of a few issues with the Contour tool and Text objects, though I'd certainly like to investigate this further to determine the exact issue you're reporting.

However unfortunately the .afpub file you've uploaded appears to be corrupted (possibly by the forums) as when trying to open this file in both 2.0.4 or 2.1 I see the 'File type not supported' error.

Can you please try attaching this file once again for me, possibly within a '.zip' folder, such that I can open it here successfully? :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

Thanks @Dan C for looking into this.

Attached is a zip file. Please let me know if it is still corrupted. If so, I will try again... Some other way.

Many thanks for providing that for me - I've been able to replicate this issue without the need for Character Styles, it appears to occur with Text Frame objects having been transformed both by moving the frame and increasing/decreasing the frame size (non-proportionally, not using the detached tool handle) and therefore I'm getting this logged with our developers now :)
