Konrad BINDER Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Here's a suggestion that would make life a bit easier for us users. In the previous version of affinity designer you could easily choose the art board with the art board tool even if there was content overlaid on the art board. In the new version2, in order for me to really get to the art board (for example in order to clone art board) I need to go to the layer tab search for the art board and then I can select the art board in order to clone it. Here is my suggestion: Create the possibility for the user to access the art board by pressing a shortcut key that will directly select the whole art board. ps. In the screenshot I just want to show you that if I click with the art board tool onto my art board, it will simply select some vector layer and not the actual art board. Not sure what the purpose and the idea for that is, maybe somebody is using it that way, it would be nice though if one could directly click on the art board and select it. That's what the art board tool should be for. Thank you so very much for your work, I love your products and it is so much fun to work with them. Konrad Quote

An artboard can also be created from a selected object - so it makes sense, that the Artboard Tool directly enables the selection of an object and subsequently the creation of an artboard from it. Perhaps the behavior of Artboard Tools could be different with the Size option. If Document, then clicking with the Artboard Tools anywhere in the document/artboard will select the entire document/artboard. If it is Selection, then clicking with Artbord tools will also allow the selection of individual objects in the document/artboards. Konrad BINDER Posted March 22, 2023 Author Posted March 22, 2023 Yes I am aware of that, but the point is that sometimes I just want to clone an existing art board in order to make a alternative design from a existing art board. Quote
Konrad BINDER Posted March 22, 2023 Author Posted March 22, 2023 But when I found out, that if I click slightly above the art board, I can select the art board. So that at least it's nice. Quote
