lost the develop tools on right hand side

I've clicked something and can't for the life of me get the editing menus back on the right hand side,even tried a factory reset but it doesn't do it. help :)

Check if you haven't hidden it going to menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Hide Studio. 

If that's not the issue you can try reset it in View ▸ Studio ▸ Reset Studio.
