I have just updated to Designer V2 which forced me to pay for Publisher and Photo which I have never and will never use but my biggest issue is if I try to use any of them they just crash ?

You could have purchased just a Designer V2 license for Windows. There is no requirement to buy all three. If you purchased from Serif you have fourteen days to request a refund, if you want.

But in any case, they should not be crashing. Are you getting any crash reports?

Hi thank you for your reply,

I have checked again and it only allows me to get the whole thing there is no option to upgrade to designer alone that I can find?

I have not managed to speak to anyone in support, that option not available to me either only link to this page for help ?

how does me having a crash report ( it did one I think ) as this is just crashing and not help that I can find ?

I have now deleted everything not needed off laptop and cleaned it up for best operation but it is still crashing... when installing it did not remove the old version on update to v2 simply added v2 as a separate programme should I uninstall the original ?

the original designer is enough for me but I need to share files with another and they are now working with v2 which won't work with mine ....

appreciate the help

If you're talking about the discounted upgrade price for V1 owners, yes, that's only for the Universal license. But you can buy Designer 2 by itself if you want. For example, this screenshot from the Affinity Store:

Hi,

Yes this was an upgrade to V2 ...

to be honest didn't think of just buying separately again and not an just upgrade, thank you, that said as an existing customer I think its a bit cheeky to make me have all 3 ....

I have now gone onto website to check any compatibility issue with my windows 10 version and I'm well with in that so should not have any problem but still just crashes' if I try to use it, so I have now installed it on my windows tablet and it seems to be working fine there so my issue now is how do I get it to run/work on my laptop ?

If you're getting crash reports, supplying one of them might help. Or checking the Windows Event Viewer and seeing what it says.

There should also be a log.txt file, probably in %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Designer\2.0 if you're using the MSIX-based installer.

They don't "make you have" all 3. They simply don't (or can't) offer the upgrade pricing for the individual applications.

I don't know much abiut the workings of computer or the lingo but designer programe did ask me if I wanted to submit crash reports (or words to the effect) and I selected yes.

I would not know how to find a 'log.txt file@ or what to do with it if I did

I provided the folder name where you'd find it. Just paste that into the address bar in File Explorer.

If you don't know what to do with it, you could attach it here.

As for submitting crash reports, I'm not sure the automatic submission accomplishes much. I think it's generally more useful to manually attach them to a report here, though you could also wait for someone from Serif to request it.
