Paul259 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Hi all, I want to apply a gradient to the bottom of an image, ideally to cover only the bottom 20%. I have saved files in both .afphoto and jpg. Is there any way to do this? I don't want to use blend modes or apply it as a mask to an image adjustment. Is there any way to do this? Many thanks for any help. Paul Quote
carl123 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Is this like to fade out the bottom of an image or to add a colour gradient (from one colour to another) to the bottom of the image? Paul259 Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 It could be either. I just want to apply a gradient to the bottom of the image. Quote
GarryP Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 One easy way to do what I think you want to do is to add a Rectangle the same size as the image and then use the Gradient Tool to add a gradient fill to that Rectangle, making one or more of the gradient stops transparent (0% Opacity). You can make the Rectangle layer a child layer of the image layer so they move around together. See attached image where I have top two gradient stops at 0% Opacity. Quote
Paul259 Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Many thanks Garry. That works a treat. All the best, Paul Quote
