chriscaldwell Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Hello, I'm working on a brochure and having some difficulty with leading adjustments in the Text Styles panel. For example, the initial style "SP-Body" has 10.5 font size applied with a leading of 11.339. I want to set the text to 12pt, and the leading to 13.5, so I click on Edit Text Style for SP-Body, and change to 12pt font size and enter the 13.5 for leading. While this does increase the leading, I can't seem to fine tune it to 13 or 12.6, or 14, or 16, etc. It's like there is no ability to tweak or fine tune. From leading 12 to 20, there is absolutely no change in leading. It's only when I got to leading 24, there a change. I attached the file. Thank you for your help. Chris TEST2.afpub Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 You have a Baseline Grid set for the document at 11.3 pt, and you have not overridden it for the Text Frame nor for the Paragraph Text Style. Therefore, Leading changes will only be effective at multiples of 11.3 pt, I think. chriscaldwell 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. chriscaldwell Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 Ps. In this tutorial in the Publisher Workbook, it says to "Reduce the narrow text frame's width by 2mm on each side to make room for the column guides." I cannot find anything on the context menu, or by right clicking on the text frame that will allow me to do this. Do you have any idea of where I'd do this? Thank you, Chris Quote

chriscaldwell Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 HI Walt, It's Affinity Publisher Workbook, page 236, "Add page furniture". This is where you put some vertical lines next to text columns. Thank you so much. walt.farrell 1 Quote

Do you have any idea of where I'd do this? I think they just want you to grab the sides of each text frame and drag them each 2mm narrower. Alternatively (though I do not think this is what they meant) you could probably set the left and right insets for the frames to 2mm in the Text Frame panel. chriscaldwell 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
