Did you already tried "Edit -> Paste without Format"?

Strange, are you sure you are doing it correctly?

I've just tried it again on my computer and the text pasted without Format was pasted without format.

Hi and thanks for your input.

Just to clarify: what I am pasting are a group of objects from one document to a new one. One of those objects is a text box which has text and paragraph styles attached to it.

I am pasting with option-command-shift-V which is resulting in importing the text and paragraph styles attached to the text box; which I would like to be omitted.

OK, it strips out the styles if you copy and paste (CMD-SHIFT-ALT-V) the text, but doesn't do the same if you copy and paste the object containing the text.
