LionelD Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 I created an open curve, and added 2 strokes using the Appearance panel. The only way I can find to effectively edit the Colour of either of the strokes is to 1) select the target stroke in the Appearance panel, then 2) Edit the associated global color swatches in the Document Palette. If I have nothing selected in the document, and just go directly to the document palette and edit a swatch, the Colour of the swatch changes, but none of the instances of that global Colour change in the document itself. In short, editing a global Colour appears to change only the currently selected stroke/fill in the Appearance. Looks like a bug to me, or did I miss something? Attached file demonstrates the problem. Editing global colours directly from the document palette works correctly for objects that do not have multiple strokes; no need to select anything. Dazmondo77 Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 I remember flagging this with the first beta that had the appearance feature, as I always stick to a global palette - this problem has either been forgotten or it's on the list of fixes, but not a priority as the workaround is pretty obvious - Just tested myself = still not working as expected but not a massive deal as long as you know about it as this could potentially cause expensive re-runs for a print job set up with globals where the client has made a last minute, document wide colour change which is a two second fix with a global palette - so for users that rely heavily on global colours, until this is fixed, don't use the appearance panel to apply multiple strokes , stick to old school stacking. LionelD Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 Thanks for your response and you suggestion. I’ll experiment with stacking, see if that’s a practical option in this case. I tried symbols, but they’re not a fit for what I’m trying to do (I use them a whole lot). Regards Quote
