rogerkem Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 I have splitt a larger document into two to avoid language formatting issues. The file has about 195 pages, 4 master pages and two TOC's. After I have made some minor changes the document can't be loaded anymore. Publisher crashes during the loading process of the file. The combined file still works as well as the German version. I had encountered comparable problems in V1. I'm using version 2.04 of Affinity publisher and Windows 11 with the latest updates and a NVIDIA graphic board. Switching off hardware acceleration didn't change anything.Buch Grüße an die Heimat - Englisch - V2_3.afpub Quote
MikeTO Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Hi Roger, you've encountered a known bug in 2.0.4 that is fixed in the 2.1 beta. If you download the beta version you'll be able to open your document. if you'd rather work with the 2.0.4 release version, then to fix it: Rename the folders containing the linked resources - there are a number of folders so you'll have to rename each of them Open the document. When prompted to relink the resources decline. Do NOT open the Resource Manager or it will crash Delete the linked resources from the document one by one and replace them with the same resource from its renamed location Save the document under a new name to be safe Quit. Rename the folders back to what you want. Open Publisher and the document. This time relink the resources. Save it and you should be good now.
