So Far Away, or how our origins might be further than they appear

Recommended Posts

Soundtrack: So Far Away, by Dire Straits (album: Brothers in Arms, 1985)

Another bug that, I feel, should've, could've, would've been spotted and purged in a proper early battery of tests.

Problem: Positioning of Point Transform origin is broken in facing pages documents. (Designer persona in Publisher 2)

Description: Select an object on your page and press F (Point Tranform). Try moving the origin. On the first page, the origin will be erroneously offset in positive direction by the width of the page. Outside the spread. On the second/third pages, origin is offset by the height of the page. On fourth and fifth page, they are offset by double the page height etc.

File included. For additional fun, try adding more pages and creating new objects on them and then moving their Point Transform origins... Yowza!

Affiñititos, how about a roadmap? (but with v2.1 efforts ... massive, tremendous improvement!)

The issue "Point transform origin point is always offset to a position off of the page/spread on facing page documents" (REF: AFB-7322) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1720".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
