seq

- create an object and select it (it reveals its handles)

- select color picker from a toolbar or a shortcut (not from the color tab)

- after a second the object handles disapear but the bounding box is still visible

this is technically not a bug per se

but it's not aligned with other features as same as with the color picker from the color tab

i've raised this issue also in the other thread

the issue is not about picking or not picking a color of handles
IMO it should not be "pickable"
but what is even more wrong is that it's not aligned between features or the ways you get to these features

that is a bug

The bounding box disappears when I change to a lot of different tools. I don't see it as a bug.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

but when you go to the same tool from different places you probably expect it to be working the same way
(even if not the same then at least the logical way)

so why

  • bounding box (and handles) disappear when i use picker from color tab (and sometimes they don't disappear as raised in the other issue)
  • only handles disappear when picker is used from toolbar icon or the kbd shortcut

this is not aligned and looks like 'oops we forgot to switch it here and there'
